We finish with a hand-applied hot iron wax (universal) and a buffed polish for maximum speed and performance. Perfect for regular riders who want reliable, long-lasting performance.
Performance Tune ($75)
Take your ride to the next level with our Performance Tune! This premium service includes top sheet cleaning for a fresh look, full rust removal, precision belt-sanded bases for optimal glide, and custom base & side edges sharpened and polished for razor-sharp control. Finished with hand-applied specialty red race wax and a high-gloss buff, this tune delivers maximum speed and performance. Ideal for advanced riders and racers who demand the best.
Edge Sharpen ($30)
Keep your edges razor-sharp with our Edge Sharpening service! We meticulously bevel and sharpen both base and side edges, then finish with a diamond stone for smooth, long-lasting results. This ensures optimal control and precision on all terrain, making it perfect for quick maintenance between full tunes.

After five years of dedicated effort in constructing my backyard ice rink, I encountered challenges with leaks when filling it. This experience inspired me to innovate by creating my own snow and designing a ski jump for an exciting and enjoyable skiing experience all in my backyard.
MY STORY
My name is Aidan Gates, and I’m a 17-year-old junior at Beverly High School. As a varsity soccer player and passionate skier, I’ve always loved being active in the outdoors. I grew up skiing at Mount Sunapee from the age of three, and my love for the sport has only deepened over the years.

I started hand-tuning skis in the basement of my house during the 2022 season after realizing the value of a more personalized approach to equipment care. While many shops rely on machine waxing for speed and efficiency, it doesn’t quite match the quality and precision of hot hand waxing. The attention to detail I bring to each pair of skis and snowboards is what truly sets Altitude Tuning apart.
